Hopeless Diamond is a contemporary display type family inspired by the dimensionality of 19th Century carved lettering and signage. These new designs were reminiscent of the radical forms of the B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber and the F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Strike Aircraft which provided additional inspiration. The name is taken from an earlier model of the F-117 that was called the ‘Hopeless Diamond’ due to its unusual structure and also as it appeared too hopeless to ever fly.

Hopeless Diamond was designed by Jonathan Barnbrook and Marcus Leis Allion and is released through their Virus Font Foundry in OpenType (OTF), PC TrueType and Mac PostScript formats. There are 3 Hopeless Diamond sub families, A, B & C and all single styles can be bought individually.
